Chapter Seven: Father and son

This quote tells me that Alex understood his father very well. He could realize that his father was to young when he married and so he left him. I think Alex would do the same thing, because he is like his father.Tom told Alex that he traveled a lot afther he had left his mother. Maybe he was afraid to miss all these exciting travels. So I think, too that Tom was to young and to wild to be a good father for Alex. He was also just a child when Alex was born.


Friday, 8 February

Toady, I traveled a lot with my father. It was fantastic and know I really understand why he left me.I just do not understand why he married my mother and traveled after that. I think that I am excactly like him and maybe I will travel the whole world like him, too, but I will not do the same mistake that he did. Now I know very much about my father. He always has the same thoughts that I have and in my mind this is a sign that he is my real father. I really miss Dani, but I came here to see my father and he is the most Important person for me at the moment.

Chapter Six: In the rainforest 2

Finally, after a long time Alex saw Tom Connel, his real father. At the beginning of the conversation the ambience was very tense and partly Alex shouted at his dad. Alex' questions were very direct and clear and Tom's answers were very excusing and self-effacing.When the conversation came to the end, Alex made the right decision and forgave his father. I think that the author could describe the first conversation of the two better. He just wrote a little dialogue and this could not give me the sensation of a real emotional talk.Tom just excused himself for what he did in the past and Alex shouted and cried nearly. The father could speak more intense and he could give better reasons for Alex' qestions. " I thought you would hate me".

Chapter Six: In the rainforests 1

I thought that Alex would ask his father a lot of questions about the past.
At the beginning of the conversation Alex would perhaps be a little bit shy to say his real opinion to his father, but in my mind he would change the mindset of his father. In my opinion he just thought too negative of his father, because of his behaviour. However, I thought that he liked his father very much and that he missed him a lot. I think that they would talk very emotional.

Chapter Five:The face in the crowd

Chapter Four: The big decision

Alex was on tour with his new band and everything seemed to be perfect for him, because the gigs with the band were good and he fell in love with Dani, but then there was the first disagreement between Alex and Dani. They discussed about the freedom of the penguins and if they like it to be in the spotlight. In Alex' opinion the penguins were not happy. Dani gave him a wrong answer, "...I thought you liked being in the spotlight". I think that Dani overreacted in this situation and that she could discuss the situation with Alex calmer. In my opinion Alex' critique was right. I mean, what would you do if you were caught in a room and every day hundreds of people stared in your face? In the end of this chapter they got along well with each other and they laughed about their childish conflict.

Chapter Three: The Island and the mountain

On the top of St. Mary's Peak Kevin told alex that he was there with Tom when he was a little kid. Then Alex inflamed in rage, because his father left him alone in London and he did not care for him the whole time. After their conversation it began to rain and they had to get down the mountain.

With "Let him see how he likes it", he means his father and this is perhaps a colloquial sentence.

I think that Kevin made a mistake when he told Alex about his father and opened this topic. If I was Ales, I would also scream because he did not see his father for 16 years and when he heard that a lot of people did activities with tom, Alex was jealous, because his father knew a lot of people but not his oldest sun Alex.

Chapter Two: Hello Australia

After a couple of stops in Athen and Singapore Alex arrived in Sydney. When he heard his "family" calling him he saw that Tom was not at the airport. He was very disapointed, because tom was the reason why he came to OZ and then suddenly he was not there to see him. so i think the first impression of his father is that he is not very authentic, so Alex was very angry the first hours in Australia. However, I think there is a mysterious reason why his father was not at the airport. Tom's wife said to Alex that he had to go to london and then she added that she was very afraid and then she stopped. So it can be that something happened with Tom. Alex got to know the two kids of Tom. Dominic is six years old and Luke is three years old. After some breakfast Alex went to the beach with them and there he got to know a very beautifull girl named Dani. They get along well and when he heard that Dani is in a band and that she needed a good guitarist Alex began to like his stay in OZ.....
